Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Chattr Labs, LLC (“Chattr Labs,” “we,” “us”) collects through this website and through the apps and services we publish, how we use it, and the choices you have.

It applies to labs.chattr.io and to every Chattr Labs app or service that links to it, unless that product has its own privacy notice. Where a product's notice adds detail, it supplements this one.

01 This website

labs.chattr.io is a static website. It has no accounts, forms, cookies, or analytics, and we don't collect personal information when you browse it.

Like any website, it relies on outside providers to load. Our hosting provider (GitHub Pages) and our font provider (Google Fonts) may receive standard technical information such as your IP address and browser type when your browser requests the page. Their own privacy policies govern how they handle that information.

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message. We use it only to respond to you.

02 Information our apps collect

Each app collects different information depending on what it does. In general, it falls into these categories:

• Account information, such as your name, email address, and sign-in credentials, if the app requires an account.
• Content you provide, meaning the information you enter so the app can do its job, such as balances, goals, schedules, or settings.
• Device and usage information, such as device type, operating system version, app version, crash reports, and diagnostic logs, used to keep the app running and to fix problems.
• Purchase information, if an app offers paid features. Payments are handled by Apple, Google, or another payment processor; we receive confirmation of the purchase, not your full payment card details.

We don't collect precise location, contacts, photos, or other sensitive device data unless a feature clearly requires it, in which case the app will ask for your permission first. You can withdraw that permission in your device settings at any time.

03 How we use information

• To provide, maintain, and improve our apps and services.
• To create and secure your account and authenticate you.
• To respond to your support requests and messages.
• To send service-related messages, such as security alerts or important changes. We don't send marketing email unless you opt in.
• To diagnose problems, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

We don't use your information for targeted advertising, and we don't build profiles of you for third parties.

04 How we share information

We don't sell or rent personal information. We share it only in these limited cases:

• Service providers that help us run our products, such as hosting, databases, email delivery, crash reporting, and payment processing. They may use your information only to perform services for us.
• People you choose to share with, for example other members of a household you set up in an app.
• Legal reasons, when we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law, or necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users, the public, or Chattr Labs.
• Business transfers. Chattr Labs is a home for projects that may later be transferred to another company. If a product, or Chattr Labs itself, is sold, merged, or spun out, the information associated with that product may be transferred as part of the deal. The new owner will be bound by this policy for that information unless and until you are notified of a change.

05 Children's privacy

Some of our products, such as family-oriented apps, are designed for parents to use with their children. These products are intended to be set up and managed by a parent or guardian, and we don't knowingly let children under 13 create their own accounts or knowingly collect personal information directly from them.

Information a parent enters about their child (for example, a first name or a savings goal) is controlled by that parent, used only to provide the service, and can be reviewed or deleted by the parent at any time. If you believe a child has given us personal information without a parent's consent, contact us and we will delete it.

06 Data retention and security

We keep personal information only as long as we need it to provide the service, or as required by law. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we must keep it for legal, security, or fraud-prevention reasons. Backups are cycled out on a regular schedule.

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including encryption in transit, to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, though, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

07 Your choices and rights

You can ask us to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you, or get a copy of it.
• Correct information that is wrong.
• Delete your account and personal information.
• Stop sending you optional communications.

Many of these can be done directly in the app. Otherwise, email ryan@labs.chattr.io and we'll respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law; we'll honor requests made under those laws.

08 International users

Chattr Labs is based in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States or other countries. By using our products, you understand that your information may be processed outside the country where you live.

09 Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the effective date above, and if the changes are significant, we'll provide notice through the affected app or by email.
